Piercing Guide

Choosing a piercing is about more than deciding where you want it. Our piercing guide gives you an overview of the piercings we offer, including placement, jewellery options, pricing and approximate healing times.

Because every body is different, suitability and placement are always assessed individually by your piercer. Our guide is a starting point to help you explore your options before booking your appointment.

01 · Ear

Ear Piercings

An earlobe piercing is a timeless choice and one of the most versatile ear piercings available. Positioned through the soft tissue of the earlobe, it suits a wide variety of jewellery styles, from simple everyday studs to elegant statement pieces.

Whether you’re getting your first piercing, creating stacked lobes or building an ear curation, earlobe piercings offer countless styling possibilities. Their classic placement makes them suitable for almost every personal style, allowing your jewellery collection to grow over time.

Children’s Earlobe Piercing

Children’s Earlobe Piercing

Price Pair: From $115
Healing Time 2 to 3 months or longer

Includes internally threaded or threadless implant grade titanium jewellery and sterile saline aftercare. Solid gold jewellery is available at an additional cost.

Children’s earlobe piercing is generally available from 8 years of age, with exceptions considered on an individual basis depending on the child’s maturity, understanding and ability to independently consent to the procedure. We use sterile, single-use piercing needles and take a calm, patient and age-appropriate approach, allowing your child time to understand the process and feel comfortable before proceeding.

Each child’s ears are assessed individually to determine appropriate placement and ensure the piercing is suitable for their anatomy. We believe a child’s first piercing should be a positive experience, and your child must be able to understand the procedure, communicate with their piercer and independently consent before we proceed.

If we feel a child is not ready, comfortable or able to independently consent to the procedure, we may postpone or decline the piercing. Our priority is ensuring every child has a safe and positive first piercing experience.

Our studio policy is limited to earlobe piercings for anyone under 15. Clients under 16 must attend with a parent or legal guardian and provide valid photo identification for both parties, along with proof of legal guardianship.

Tragus

Tragus

Its classic placement makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking to add a refined, versatile piercing that reflects their personal style.

Hidden Helix

Hidden Helix

Healing Time 6 to 9 months

Includes implant grade titanium jewellery and sterile saline aftercare. Solid gold jewellery is available at an additional cost.

A hidden helix is one of the most unique ear piercings, creating the illusion of jewellery floating effortlessly beneath the rim of the ear.

From delicate floating diamonds to elegant cascading chains, this piercing offers beautiful styling possibilities while maintaining an understated, luxurious look.

If you love the look of a hidden helix but your anatomy isn’t suitable, a vertical helix may offer a similar aesthetic and is another beautiful option we’ll happily discuss during your appointment.

Once fully healed, your hidden helix can be styled with a wide range of jewellery, from minimalist pieces to statement designs, allowing your look to evolve over time.

Rook

Rook

Price From $90
Healing Time 6 to 9 months

Includes internally threaded or threadless implant grade titanium jewellery and sterile saline aftercare. Solid gold jewellery is available at an additional cost.

A rook piercing is positioned within the inner ridge of the ear, creating a distinctive look that adds depth and character to the ear. Its tucked-away placement also helps protect it from everyday knocks and snags compared with many outer ear piercings, making it a popular choice for those looking for a unique yet practical cartilage piercing.

Once fully healed, your rook can be styled with a wide variety of decorative curved barbells. For a different look, many people also choose to wear a ring, transforming the appearance of the piercing while maintaining its distinctive character.

Faux Rook

Faux Rook

Price From $90
Healing Time 6 to 9 months

Includes internally threaded or threadless implant grade titanium jewellery and sterile saline aftercare. Solid gold jewellery is available at an additional cost.

A faux rook piercing offers the look of a traditional rook piercing without passing through the thick ridge of cartilage. Instead, it’s placed through the flat cartilage above the rook, creating a similar aesthetic while offering even greater flexibility in jewellery choice.

The faux rook is ideal for people whose anatomy isn’t suited to a traditional rook, or for those wanting a unique piercing that sits beautifully within the ear. As it sits tucked away inside the ear, it’s generally less prone to everyday knocks than many outer ear piercings.

From the moment it’s pierced, a faux rook can be adorned with everything from delicate gemstones and nature-inspired designs to bold statement pieces, making it one of the most versatile piercings for creating a personalised look.

Daith

Daith

Price From $95
Healing Time 6 to 12 months

Includes internally threaded implant grade titanium jewellery and sterile saline aftercare. Solid gold jewellery is available at an additional cost.

A daith piercing is placed through the innermost fold of cartilage just above the ear canal, creating a distinctive look that’s both elegant and eye-catching. Its unique placement makes it a popular choice for those looking for something a little different while adding balance and character to the ear.

Once fully healed, many people choose to change their jewellery to a decorative ring or clicker, allowing them to personalise their look with everything from simple, refined designs to intricate statement pieces.

Industrial

Industrial

Price From $120
Healing Time 9 to 12 months

Includes an internally threaded implant grade titanium industrial barbell and sterile saline aftercare. Solid gold jewellery can be specially ordered at an additional cost.

An industrial piercing consists of two cartilage piercings connected by a single straight barbell, creating one of the most striking and recognisable ear piercings. Running across the upper ear, it offers a bold, contemporary look while remaining timeless in style.

Because industrial piercings rely heavily on individual ear anatomy, not everyone is a suitable candidate. During your appointment, we’ll carefully assess your ear anatomy to determine whether an industrial piercing is suitable. We’ll only perform this piercing when it can be done safely and has the best chance of healing successfully.

Once fully healed, your industrial can be personalised with a wide variety of straight barbells, from sleek minimalist designs to decorative styles that reflect your individual taste.

Transverse Lobe

Price From $100
Healing Time 3 to 6 months

Includes internally threaded or threadless implant grade titanium jewellery and sterile saline aftercare. Solid gold jewellery is available at an additional cost.

A transverse lobe piercing passes horizontally through the earlobe rather than from front to back, creating a distinctive look unlike any other ear piercing. Its unique placement makes it an eye-catching choice for those looking for something truly different while maintaining an elegant, contemporary appearance.

Because a transverse lobe piercing is highly anatomy dependent, not everyone is a suitable candidate. During your appointment, we’ll carefully assess your earlobe anatomy to determine whether this piercing is the right option for you.

Unlike a traditional lobe piercing, a transverse lobe creates a unique visual effect, making it an excellent choice for those wanting a distinctive piercing that’s rarely seen.

Other Ear Piercings We Offer

We also perform a range of specialised ear piercings depending on your anatomy and jewellery goals, including:

Vertical HelixA modern variation of the traditional helix with a unique vertical placement.
SnugA distinctive inner cartilage piercing suitable for selected ear anatomies.

Whether you prefer a simple curved barbell with delicate gemstones or a more decorative design, an eyebrow piercing offers plenty of options for creating a look that’s uniquely yours. It can be worn on its own or paired with other facial piercings for a more distinctive aesthetic.

Navel

Navel

Price From $100
Healing Time 9 to 12 months

Includes internally threaded implant grade titanium jewellery and sterile saline aftercare. Solid gold jewellery is available at an additional cost.

A navel piercing, also known as a belly button piercing, is placed through the tissue surrounding the belly button, with placement and jewellery selection carefully assessed according to your individual anatomy. Not every navel is suited to a navel piercing, which is why an anatomy assessment is an important part of determining whether the piercing is suitable and which placement, if any, is appropriate.

Depending on your individual anatomy, a traditional navel piercing or floating navel may be considered. These are different placements with different anatomical requirements, and suitability is assessed individually rather than assuming one option will work for everyone.

Whether you’re looking for a classic navel piercing or a more decorative jewellery style, your jewellery can be selected to complement your anatomy and personal aesthetic.

05 · Surface & Dermal

Surface & Dermal Anchor Piercings

Surface & Dermal Anchor Piercings

Surface & Dermal Anchor Piercings

Price From $120
Healing Time 6 months or longer

Includes implant grade jewellery and sterile saline aftercare.

Please Note

Certain areas may be unsuitable due to movement, friction, pressure from clothing or other lifestyle factors. We may recommend an alternative placement or decline a piercing if we feel the area is unlikely to heal successfully.

Surface and dermal piercings offer a unique way to wear jewellery in areas of the body that aren’t suited to traditional piercings. We offer a selection of surface and dermal placements, including facial placements, sternum, back dimples and collarbones.

Because these piercings are highly anatomy dependent, not every placement is suitable for every person. During your appointment, we’ll assess the area, discuss your desired placement and jewellery, and determine whether the piercing is appropriate for your anatomy and lifestyle.

It’s important to understand that surface and dermal piercings are generally considered long-term temporary piercings. Unlike many traditional piercings, they may eventually migrate or reject as the body naturally attempts to push the jewellery towards the surface. How long they last varies considerably between individuals and placement.

06 · Ear Curation

Ear Curation

No two ears are the same, which is why no two ear curations should be either.

An ear curation is the process of thoughtfully planning piercings and jewellery to create a balanced, personalised look that complements your unique anatomy and individual style. Whether you’re starting with your very first piercing or adding to an existing collection, we’ll help you choose the placements and jewellery that work beautifully together.

During your appointment, we’ll assess your anatomy, discuss your style and recommend the piercings and jewellery best suited to your goals. We’ll also help you choose from our carefully selected range of implant grade titanium and solid gold jewellery to create a look that reflects your personal style.

Whether you’re planning a single piercing or a complete ear transformation, we’ll create a look that’s uniquely yours.
